Corporate layoffs don't point to a recession

Challenger, Gray & Christmas track announced corporate layoffs every month. So far, layoff activity through September is only up modestly from recent lows, and less than half the levels which we saw during the last recession, which was mild by historical standards.

Most people that have been laid off remain hopeful. There are many good jobs posted on popular employment sites -

http://www.linkedin.com (networking)
http://www.indeed.com (aggregated listings)
http://www.realmatch.com (matches you to jobs)

Good luck!

Things just aren't as bad as the press makes them seem. Unemployment claims haven't rise for the past 4 weeks, for example.
