Auto sales weak, but not disastrous
The big headlines about plunging auto sales in September neglected to mention that September sales were unchanged from July, after rising a bit in August. The drop in sales we've seen in the past year doesn't look too different from other sales slumps. I continue to think we've seen the worst of the news about the weak economy. We're unlikely to experience a boom anytime soon, but neither are we likely to see a big bust.
