Palin vs Gibson: stalemate

I just watched the Nightline segment with the interrogation of Sarah Palin by Charlie Gibson. My first impression is that she is one tough lady. Imagine any other freshman politician (from a small town and a small state, no less) faced with questions like that; they would have committed at least one or two blunders. In contrast, I thought she gave as well as she took. A very impressive performance from someone who finds herself on the national stage, confronting tough questions from a seasoned veteran about all the hot buttons of the day. Wow. I was especially impressed with her ability to maintain her position that man is not the only cause of global warming. How many (are there any others besides Palin?) politicians today have the guts to say on national television that global warming may be due to things other than man's activities? This lady is tough, no question about it, and she has principles and she is not going to compromise them. If she didn't know anything about foreign policy 10 days ago, as so many suspected, she has proven to be a very quick study. My hat is off to her. She is going to go far. Palin for Pres in 2012?

Well... what's the Bush doctrine anyway?

Charles Krauthammer puts it very nicely here. In short, the Bush Doctrine is any number of things. It is clearly not summed up in one line, so Palin was correct to ask for clarification.
