In your 2015 predictions you were high on REITs, but they have lost around -6% of value in 2015. Would you put money into a REIT index or the S&P 500 at this point?

Thanks,

TylerAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13505797460766969601noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6616959642391988608.post-12945155218831241782015-07-19T18:36:53.175-07:002015-07-19T18:36:53.175-07:00houston: the best I can do is suggest the St. Loui...houston: the best I can do is suggest the St. Louis fed, but they give you only swap rates. To get swap spreads you need to subtract the yield on comparable Treasuries.

https://research.stlouisfed.org/fred2/categories/32299Scott Grannishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14028519647946868684noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6616959642391988608.post-64048047267003920502015-07-19T10:35:39.160-07:002015-07-19T10:35:39.160-07:00Scott. TIPS trade based on their real yield to maturity, whereas nominal bonds trade on their nominal yield to maturity. TIPS are unique in that their principal is adjusted for CPI inflation. Their coupon yield (a real yield) is then paid on the adjusted principal.
